Sultan Ibrahim Ismail ibni almarhum Sultan Iskandar - Ibrahim, the new Sultan of Johor

order to fill the shoes of the father, the almarhum Sultan Iskandar ibni almarhum Sultan Ismail who died on Friday at the age of 77, but Tengku Ibrahim, 51, has what it takes to be a great ruler from Malaysia's oldest istana.

I am not a Johorean myself - I was born without a raja in Melaka and grew up in Singapore where we had no sultan (only a Masjid Sultan) - but the little that I know of Ibrahim when he was the Tengku Mahkota Johor - I dare say that Johoreans now have another Raja berjiwa Rakyat. Sultan Ibrahim loves adventures, has a great sense of humor and, most of all, genuinely cares for the well-being of Johoreans, joit just the Melayu Johor but the bukan Melayu as well.
