During the Hari Raya holidays, my family and I were watching this Malay TV drama entitled “Ragam Mertua” over TV Malaysia. Basically it is about two sons who bring back their so-called urban modern wives (awek Melayu) back to their parent’s home in the kampung.
There is this scene where the father-in-law (played by Jalil Hamid) sees one his daughter-in-law wearing a sarung and a sleevess blouse, brushing her long black hair with her hand, without her knowledge. Of course in that scene the gadis Melayu actress purposely brushes her hair in a slow seductive way.
Then the father-in-law walks over to his wife (played by Norlia Ghani) and tells her to advise that daughter-in-law not to be “seksi”.
